Sarah Palin's children are a direct reflection on her parenting ability. And yes if Senator Obama's daughter was pregnant, the Republicans would be all over it. If Sarah Palin can't take this heat, she shouldn't be vice president. In actuality, her 5 month old son with Down Syndrome needs her a lot more than America does at this point.

First off , what exactly is "conciane"? I believe you mean cocaine! BTW Palin herself admitted that she had done recreational drugs herself. I don't know your age of course, but if you are 60 and under, most people were exposed to or tried some recreational drugs, it was just part of the culture at the time. What we do in our youth should not be held against us our entire lives. Obama went on the earn an advanced education at Ivy League Schools and became an attorney. McCain supports need to let the Clinton, Edwards, etc. go. They are not running for president! As for this Palin situation, she does deserve intense scrunity, first because she has extremely little experience (I'm being kind). Obama is Senator and served at the state level as well. Plus he wrote for the Harvard Law Review. You may not agree with him or admire him, but you need to acknowlege the facts! McCain would be the oldest president, has had numerous bouts of cancer, etc., his vice president would be literally a heartbeat away, so we need to know everything about this woman. No one really investigated Bush's background and capacity and look what that got us! (I know that you think he's just great). Palin brought this intense scrutiny on herself, by bringing religion into the campaign, by preaching family values, abstinence, no birth control, etc. She wants to impose her beliefs on us all and cannot manage her own family. If Obama's daughter was pregnant, the Republicans would be all over it. And I do think that his children should be off limits they are 10 and 7 years old! McCain should be ashamed of himself for his remarks about 13 year old Chelsea Clinton. If you use your family and put them out for display, then they are fair game. (Palin should have understood this since she is a hunter!)

God! How quickly we forget. The last eight years of Bush-Rovian media manipulation has obviously left some of us with a serious depletion of gray matter. When you consider how the the 527s of the last election swift-boated and flip-flopped Senator Kerry into political oblivion-well, what goes around, comes around. Also, when you consider party tactics-there's NO comparison about who has the media upper-hand. Case in point-The "right" saw fit to impeach one of the most effective Presidents since Roosevelt due to a personal, sexual indiscretion (of the kind pursued by countless past presidents-without any oversight by the media). Yet, a President who has lied repeatedly to the American people, abused the constitution shamelessly, engaged in reckless foreign policy, has forsaken those without help or hope and left the environment and the economy in a shambles while enriching his Big Oil, Big Pharma & Insurance buddies-and has had the worst overall track record of success in the history of US presidents to boot- HE doesn't even get a slap on the wrist? You want to talk about media bias? Don't go there. You'll lose.

The difference as I see it "truth", is simple. If you are going to use family values and ultra conservative stances to increase you votes then you will be held to a higher standard then others. Simply put Palin does raise some serious concerns regarding her judgement so far for me. If you dont want your child in the media then you shouldn't put them up on a stage, while you disclose publicly your dirty laundry in detail or run for public office. I do not agree with going after her daughter but my comment simply shows the arena of politics as it is. You may wish it to be otherwise but it simply is what it is. As for Palin's background I personally dont know much about her yet, but will likely do some research of my own on her voting record and what she as passed into law along with her economic and finance issues she has faced and delt with in the past (20 mths.). I really dont care about her as a person or that she hunts etc., frankly couldn't care less. What I do care about is her service record and we only have a very short time to look at that. For the record I am a christian and I at this time would vote for Obama on many levels. The republicans have gone a long way from anything to do with morals etc. Im not suprised they are facing some serious lack of trust from the people and McCain Im sorry to say is not helping the matter. Ohh one last thought... If you are going to call yourself an ultra conservative then you really are preaching the same fanatisim seen in other religion and politics it just has another face. By the way on a religious point of view between you and me. The one thing God gave us was the freedom of choice and only he will hold us acountable for our actions no one else, so legislating peoples choices in things and morality as a whole will never make a person moral or make the right choices that is a matter of the soul.

The media is a fact of life. It seems to me, that if Palin was so accountable for her actions - she would not have accepted the offer to be Vice President in light of the fact that her daughter would recieve media attention, and for the simple fact that she is not qualified to run the second highest office in the country. She is not thinking of the well being of her daughter or the United States. She is thinking of her own career. And McCain was just looking for a female to win Hillaries supporters. We are not so stupid as to not see through that game. Hillary went through her share of media hits, and she was qualified and ready. This is different.
